Development of software for recording, tendering and controlling BIM requirements for municipal building administration and municipal building management in North Rhine-Westphalia

Project duration: 09/2023 to 03/2025

A nationwide market research has shown that the municipalities lack a "tool" to define BIM objectives, BIM applications and BIM requirements for e.g. properties, buildings, components or facilities, to create tenders based on them and to check subsequent data deliveries for compliance with the required requirements.

With this research project, the BIM Institute of the University of Wuppertal and AEC3 are developing the innovative software tool "Kommunal BIM:EAK" in conjunction with numerous municipalities. This enables municipal building administrations and municipal building management companies in North Rhine-Westphalia to transparently record, tender and monitor information requirements for buildings.
