DPBB - Digital planning, construction and operation

ROBO-LAB // FK 5

With the installation of a large-scale industrial robot in October 2019, the faculty's "Laboratory for Computer-Assisted Model Making" will be expanded for the research and teaching of digital manufacturing processes. This will allow future construction methods, such as the 3D printing of molded bricks or the binding of geometrically complex wooden structures using subtractive processes, to be investigated prototypically at scales that go beyond architectural model making.

Robot arm - ABB IRB 4600-60

The robotic arm can be used to develop and test machine production. The extreme mobility enables a new approach to the design process and the presentation or production methods.

Projects such as "Lightbot" and "Printing Stone" are examples of the wide range of applications.

Under the following link you will find student research projects from the Architecture Master's Seminar EE1 from the winter semester 19/20, which used the robotic arm and produced excellent work.

You can find more information about the student research projects here.
