Digital Decathlon in Warsaw

The Erasmus+ student project "Digital Decathlon" concludes the second BIM competition in Warsaw with participants from all over Europe.

In a multi-stage process, 10 students from the University of Wuppertal will once again have the opportunity to learn the BIM method in a practical way as part of an international exchange programme this year!

After a preparatory phase of lectures and exercises in Wuppertal, 10 civil engineering students travelled to Warsaw from 18 to 21 November. Here, a total of 50 students from five different universities from different countries (Germany, Finland, Italy and Poland) from different disciplines met at the Politechnika Warszawska of the Warsaw University of Technology to learn and implement 10 different use cases in interdisciplinary competition teams based on 2D plans for a pavilion.

The focus was on the following use cases:

D 01: Architecture

D 02: Wood construction

D 03: MEP

D 04: Model checking

D 05: Project management

D 06: Construction Scheduling

D 07: Life Cycle Assessment

D 08: Solar Simulation

D 09: Visualisation

D 10: Reporting

After an interim presentation in Warsaw, the students will now continue to practise in Wuppertal how to use various software tools to implement BIM use cases before taking part in the Digital Decathlon again in February in Jonsuu / Finland under examination conditions.
